James Franklin: ‘We Had Too Many Drops’

Penn State coach James Franklin wasn’t entirely happy with the team’s 34-0 win over FIU this past Saturday at Beaver Stadium, and dropped passes were at the top of his list of gripes.

Interestingly enough, Pro Football Focus only gave Penn State one drop.

Franklin graded on a tougher curve, counting five.

“We had too many drops. We have to catch the ball. We had too many drops in the game. We have to do whatever we have to do. That jugs machine should be burning up in the Lasch Building right now in the weight room with guys in there, making sure they’re recreating the exact catch or exact drop, positioning to get that fixed.”
