It’s officially safe to say that former Penn State defensive coordinator Tom Allen is having a rough go of it in his new home.
Allen, who left Penn State after one season as defensive coordinator to take the same position at Clemson, is off to a 1-3 start, and the defense has been a problem.
In the team’s latest setback Saturday against Syracuse, Clemson gave up 205 yards of offense in just a little over a quarter. Clemson ended up allowing 34 points and more than 400?595/“ gaSyracuse jumped out to a 10-0 lead and never lost it. Now, Clemson, which many saw as a national championship favorite coming into the season, is in the middle of a straight up disaster.
Clemson now has losses to LSU, Georgia Tech and Syracuse— all three of which being games they were favored to win.
In Allen’s lone season at Penn State, his defense was seventh in the country in yards allowed and eighth in points allowed.
