Dan Lanning Prepares For “Talented” and “Relentless” Lions

Somehow, Oregon has a claim to a national title.
Dan Lanning leads Oregon to the Big Ten title in their first year in the conference.

After securing The Platypus Trophy for a third consecutive season in defeating rival Oregon State 41-7, Oregon coach Dan Lanning now focuses on a trip to Penn State.

What are Lanning’s initial thoughts of James Franklin’s Nittany Lions in a rematch from last season’s Big Ten Championship Game?

“They’re really talented,” Lanning told OregonLive. “Schematically, as challenging as anybody we’ll play, as far as what they present on both sides of the ball. They play with relentless effort, they play well on special teams. Coach Franklin’s teams are always well-coached. So, it will be a real challenge for us, but one we’re excited to attack.”

Penn State’s ground attack is excited to see Oregon again. Nick Singleton (105 yards) and Kaytron Allen (124 yards) each had over 100 yards in the Big Ten Championship game last season.
