College football insider Phil Steele promotes his brand as the most accurate and his book is the one the experts cannot do without.
If that type of marketing is any indicator of what is in store for Penn State, then Steele is high on the 2025 Nittany Lions naming five to his preseason All-American team.
Running back Nick Singleton and offensive lineman Olaivavega Ioane headline a quintet of Nittany Lions making Steeleโs First Team Preseason All-Americans. Singleton and Ioane anchor Steeleโs nationally top ranked running back and offensive line units in the nation.ย
Defensive tackle Zane Durant was recognized as a Second Team Preseason All-American selection by Steele. Durant was amongst the nationโs leaders amongst interior defensive lineman with 11 tackles for losses. Along with EDGE Dani Dennis-Sutton, Durant will anchor Steeleโs No. 3 defensive line unit.ย
Receiving Fourth Team Preseason All-American selections were quarterback Drew Allar and cornerback A.J. Harris.
Allar enters his senior season at Penn State as the schools career leader in completion percentage (62.9%) and lowest interception rate (1.1%). Allar is within striking distance of many of the major passing categories with another deep playoff run.
Harris anchors Steeleโs No. 4 defensive back unit nationally. Last season, Penn State defensive backs collected 20 interceptions as a group which ranked fourth nationally.
