In recruiting news, one of Penn State football’s top-rated Class of 2026 commits has locked in an official visit to Notre Dame.
Messiah Mickens, a four-star in-state RB from Harrisburg who’s been committed to PSU since August 2023, is taking an official visit to the school where former Penn State RB coach Ja’Juan Seider is now employed.

Mickens was the first player to commit to Penn State’s 2026 Class and, simply put, is one of its most promising prospects.
He’s the No. 4 overall player in Pennsylvania per 247Sports’ composite rankings, as well as the No. 13 RB in the country and the 169th-ranked overall player.
Mickens has firmly established himself as one of the best prep running backs in the country and he further solidified that in 2024. He ended the season with 1,214 rushing yards and 21 touchdowns, also catching 17 passes for 235 yards and additional two TD.
He’s also pretty darn good defensively, ending the season with 81 tackles, 16.5 sacks, 21 quarterback hurries and two forced fumbles.
All of this was good enough for him to earn PA Gatorade Player of the Year.
