We’ll find out soon whether or not RB Nicholas Singleton will be back at Penn State for the 2025 season but for now, he’s still enrolled at the University.
It was somewhat newsworthy when, Monday morning, it was found that Singleton wasn’t in PSU’s student directory when other players, such as Kaytron Allen, Kobe King, Dani Dennis-Sutton and Vega Ioane, are still listed despite being Draft eligible.
Nittany Sports Now reached out to a Penn State spokesperson about Singleton’s status, and got this statement in return:
“Nicholas Singleton is enrolled in spring classes at the University. We do not have any explanation as to why he is not listed in the University’s student directory at this time.”

Singleton has been one of Penn State’s most impactful players from almost Day 1, when he arrived as a true freshman in 2022.
This is why, if he does stay another season, Singleton has a realistic shot of becoming Penn State’s all-time leading rusher.

Considering Singleton rushed for 1,099 yards this season, that sure seems realistic.
Singleton is the fourth-ranked running back in the Draft per Mel Kiper Jr. This seems good on the surface. But considering there are years where a running back doesn’t even go in the first round, perhaps Singleton could improve his stock with another year.

Kaytron Allen is still enrolled on the directory, so there haven’t been any questions on his status at least as far as whether he’s enrolled right this second. Allen has been a force along with Singleton for the past three years and he currently ranks 11th on Penn State football’s list and is 1,057 away from Royster’s record.
Penn State’s next game is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 30 against Nevada at Beaver Stadium.
