Decision Day for Top Tight End Prospect Andrew Olesh

Pennsylvania 4-star recruit Andrew Olesh, one of the top tight end prospects in the country, will be in the spotlight tonight.

Olesh will put an end to his recruitment and announce his much-anticipated college decision tonight at 6 PM.

Olesh (Southern Lehigh High School in Center Valley, Pennsylvania) announced on Sunday that he will be deciding between Penn State, Alabama, Florida and Michigan. Other major offers for Olesh include Colorado, Florida State, Miami, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Pitt and West Virginia.

The 6-foot-5, 215-pound recruit is rated by Rivals.com as the No. 8 prospect in Pennsylvania and the No. 11 tight end in the Class of 2025.

Here were the order of Olesh’s official visits: Alabama (May 31st), Florida (June 7th), Penn State (June 14th) and Michigan (June 21st).

In an interview with Chad Simmons from On3, Olesh had this to say about his attraction to Penn State.

“They have produced so many good tight ends,” said Olesh. “They just had Theo Johnson go in the draft as a fourth-round pick. Pat Freiermuth and Brenton Strange are other good Penn State tight ends to go in the draft. At Penn State, I know I could get developed if I go there. That’s one of the things that stand out about them. They’re very focused on the development of tight ends at Penn State.”

Considering he’s made eight visits to James Franklin’s program over the last couple of years, Penn State appeared to be a strong favorite for Olesh. However, if the rumors are true, that appears to have changed with the defending national champions, Michigan being the current favorite.

Penn State’s Class of 2025 currently has 21 commitments and is ranked by Rivals.com has the No. 7 recruiting class in the country. Of those 21 recruits, one is a tight end, Matt Henderson, from Powhatan, Virginia.
