Penn State has added a new team to its non-conference schedule for the 2024-25 college basketball season
On Friday CBS Sports’ National Basketball Analyst Jon Rothstein reported that Penn State will host Penn in a non-conference matchup in late December. The game will take place on Dec. 29, per Rothstein.
Penn State’s athletic site lists four prior matchups between Penn and Penn State, with the Nittany Lions having won all four. Most recently, the two teams played each other in the 2013-14 season, in which Penn State took home a 83-71 win in Philadelphia behind Tim Frazier and D.J. Newbill.
The Nittany Lions are set to take on Virginia Tech from the ACC as part of the Hall of Fame series in Baltimore, Maryland. That matchup will take place at CFG Bank Arena on Nov. 15. Villanova and Virginia are also part of the event and will be playing each other.
