Penn State Defensive Tackle Hakeem Beamon Will Return for Sixth Season

Penn State’s defensive line received a boost Friday. Redshirt senior defensive tackle Hakeem Beamon announced on social media that he is returning to Penn State for a sixth season of eligibility.

“Lets’s do it ❗❗ ❗❗ ❗❗,” Beamon wrote.

In 2023,Beamon played in all 13 games and started six of Penn State’s 12 regular season games. He closed 2023 with 12 tackles, two quarterback hits, 1.5 tackles-for-loss, and one sack.

The 6-foot-3, 290-pound tackle has been a member of the program since 2019. In four seasons, Beamon owns 37 tackles in 37 games. He also owns nine tackles-for-loss and four passes defended. He notched his first career sack at Maryland on Nov. 4. Beamon did not play in 2021.

Penn State concluded the year 10-3 following a loss to Ole Miss in the Peach Bowl. The 38-25 loss in PSU’s first-ever Peach Bowl marked Penn State’s first loss in a New Year’s Six bowl since the classic 2016 Rose Bowl (51-49 to USC in Pasadena.)
