Penn State football has received a preferred walk-on commitment from a Class of 2024 WPIAL ATH.
It’s Canon-McMillan’s Tyler Armstead.
Armstead was a second-team all-conference performer this past season and got an offer from Penn State toward the end of November.
Late Monday night, Armstead posted on social media that he’s “100% COMMITTED”
“Thank you for believing in me,” Armstead wrote, before tagging the accounts of Penn State head coach James Franklin, associate head coach/western PA native Terry Smith and Assistant Director of Player Relations and Personnel Rashad Elby. “That you to my family, teammates and coaches for supporting me.”
Early signing day is scheduled for next Wednesday, Dec. 20. Penn State has three WPIAL players signing that day: Four-star Quinton Martin (Belle Vernon), and three-stars Anthony Speca and Peter Gonzalez, who both play for Pittsburgh Central Catholic.
