Penn State OL coach Phil Trautwein would like seeing this.
The first player to commit to Penn State football’s Class of 2024 is one of the nation’s top five OL according to On3Sports’ updated recruiting rankings.
An OT prospect who committed more than a year later is among the top 10 at his position.
McDowell’s Cooper Cousins is the No. 5 interior offensive linemen in America from the ‘24 Class.

Cousins is also a four-star recruit listed at 6-foot-6 and 305 pounds.
Ahead of him, in order, are Alabama commit Casey Poe, Grant Brix, an un-committed four-star from Iowa’s Logan-Magnolia High School, Wisconsin commit Emerson Mandell and another Alabama commit in William Sanders. All of the IOL in the top five are four stars.
Another ‘24 Penn State OL commit is now listed by On3 as a top 10 offensive tackle.
Garret Sexton, a four-star, 6-foot-7, 265-pounder from Arrowhead High School in Hartland, Wisconsin, committed to Penn State in late-April, well after Cousins, who committed in January 2022.

Sexton was No. 11 in the previous OT rankings, and now is No. 8.
For a long time— more than a year, in fact— Cousins was the only player committed to Penn State’s ‘24 class. Since than, 24 players have committed, and assuming they stay committed, most of them— if not all— will sign on Early Singing Day Dec. 20.
Along with Cousins and Sexton, Penn State’s ‘24 OL commits consist of four-star OT Liam Andrew’s (Dexter School), three-star Donovan Harbour (Waukesha, Wisconsin), three-star in-state OT Caleb Brewer (Wyomissing) and three-star OT Eagan Boyer (Cornelius, North Carolina).
