The country music superstar will be at Penn State Saturday, April 27 as part of his “Growin’ up and Gettin’ Old’ tour.
This will be the second time Combs has visited Happy Valley.
He came to Penn State in February 2020 while he was on his “What you See is What you Get” tour, selling out the building. But Beaver Stadium will be a different animal. The building is known to sports fans for being one of college football’s most raucous environments, but hasn’t put on too many concerts.
The most recent one was in 2017 when Blake Shelton, Chris Young, Big and Rich, Adler Stump and David Ray came.
Penn State athletic director Pat Kraft has openly stated that he hopes Beaver Stadium will be used for more events besides Penn State football games. “That building should be used more than seven days (a year), in my opinion,” Kraft said at Big Ten Media Days last July. “And we have to find ways to do that. We’ve got to provide ourselves the opportunity to really generate more revenue off of it.”
Kraft also made a statement on Combs coming to Beaver Stadium.
“We are thrilled to have Luke Combs make the iconic Beaver Stadium part of his Growin’ Up and Gettin’ Old Tour in 2024,” Kraft said. “Not only is this a tremendous way to showcase our stadium but will also provide an economic impact for our community and local businesses. We know the combination of this unique opportunity and it being Luke’s only concert in the state of Pennsylvania in 2024 that his fans will show up and make this one of the biggest concerts in the country.”
