Penn State All 105: And Here’s to You, Mr. Robinson

Ta’Mere Robinson

All 105 is a Nittany Sports Now series profiling each Penn State football player. In this edition, we will be taking a look at true freshman linebacker Ta’Mere Robinson.

Height: 6-foot-3

Weight: 231 pounds

Hometown: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Before Penn State: Robinson’s playing career at Brashear High School didn’t last as long as he would have liked. In October of his junior season, Robinson suffered a severe knee injury and never played another down of high school football. Nonetheless, Robinson played well enough at Brashear to become a blue-chip recruit. The four-star was the No. 2 player in Pennsylvania from the ‘23 class according to 247Sports. He announced his commitment to Penn State in July 2022.

Where he stands: Robinson– a versatile player who 247Sports listed as an EDGE– projects to be a MIKE linebacker at the beginning of his career, where he’ll likely be behind veterans Tyler Elsdon and Kobe King. Penn State is deep at linebacker, with Abdul Carter and Curtis Jacobs leading the way, so it might be hard for Robinson to get a ton of playing time at the outset.

A quote by Robinson: “Ever since I started getting recruited,” Robinson said, “I’m like ‘I can’t wait until the day I commit, I just want to see how it’s going to be.’ When it happened, seeing all these people out here, I’m like ‘this is mad love’ when I see how many people support me. I appreciate everyone who came out to this.” — Robinson on the night of his commitment announcement.

A quote about Robinson: “Ta’Mere is probably the best human being on the face of this earth.” — Brashear coach Andrew Moore to Nittany Sports Now that same night.
