The four-star defensive lineman listed Penn State along with Miami, Michigan, Oklahoma and Texas A&M as his finalists.
The 6-foot-6, 265-pounder Cunningham was last on campus June 16-18 for an official visit. He’s being primarily recruited by defensive line coach Deion Barnes.
Should Cunningham commit, he would be the second defensive linemen to commit for the 2024 class joining three-star De’Andre Cook who made his pledge June 30th.
The Miami, Fla. native has a massive frame with room to grow. He’s solidly built, but raw when it comes to technique which is expected from someone entering his senior season of high school.
This is Cunningham’s first season at Miami Central High School in Miami. He spent the 2022 season at Los Alamitos in California spending the first five games suspended before racking up 17 tackles throughout the remainder of the season. It will also be his fourth high school in as many years as he spent the freshman and sophomore years in Georgia where he went to Lilburn Providence Christian Academy and Johns Creek High School respectively.
Cunningham is listed at 34th overall in the class of 2024 for the state of Florida and 29th at defensive lineman according to the 247Sports Composite ranking.
With a large senior group up front defensively, Cunningham could find some early playing time should he end up at Penn State. The Nittany Lions could lose up to 11 players along the defensive line at the end of the year next season to graduation or the NFL.
