Penn State in-state three-star target Deyvid Palepale, a Class of 2024 defensive tackle out of Hempfield High School in Landisville, Pennsylvania, will announce his commitment live on 247Sports.com Saturday afternoon at 2:00.
Penn State is a finalist along with Michigan and USC for Palepale (6-foot-3, 288 pounds) who is the No. 16 prospect in Pennsylvania and the No. 57 defensive lineman nationally, according to 247Sports.
Palepale was born in Anchorage, Alaska, before he moved to Pennsylvania at 14 years old, and has also played offensive tackle at Hempfield. He also competes in the discus and shotput, recording 115-1 and 39-1, respectively, in those events.
Palepale is a prospect who has NFL bloodlines. His  cousin, Penei Sewell, currently plays for the Lions, and Sewell’s brother, Noah, plays for the Bears.
Palepale currently has five 247Sports Crystal Ball predictions for USC and one for Michigan. Penn State appeared to be the favorite to land Palepale commitment before his visit to USC last weekend, and now Penn State’s future conference foe now appears to be the favorite.
If Penn State lands Palepale, he will be the first interior defensive lineman to commit to the school in the 2024 recruiting cycle.
