**Penn State football has extended an offer to Xavier “Tree” Newsom, (2025), a four-star defensive end/tight end from Detroit’s Martin Luther King High School. Newsom (6-foot-5, 220 pounds) also has offers from Eastern Michigan, Marshall, Michigan, Pitt and Toledo.

Update (6:00 a.m.)— **Penn State’s highest rated ‘25 commit, Jaelyne Matthews, is visited Happy Valley this weekend.
Matthews, a four-star from Tom’s River North High School in New Jersey, is 6-foot-8, 280 pounds and was the first ‘25 player to commit to Penn State, doing so in January. Matthews has still been listening to other schools. Since committing to Penn State, he’s received offers from Florida, Florida State, Michigan, Michigan State and Wisconsin. He’s also visiting Georgia, which offered him last April, at the end of May.
