4-Star ’25 QB Cutter Boley has Penn State in Top 5

Cutter Boley, a four-star Class of 2025 QB from Kentucky’s Lexington Christian Academy, had Penn State in his top 10, which he tweeted this past Friday.

He now has Penn State in his top five, which came out Tuesday.

Penn State has made the cut, along with Florida State, Kentucky, Michigan and Tennessee.

Boley (6-foot-5, 208 pounds) is set to announce his commitment Thursday, May 18. In just a few days, Boley removed Alabama, Miami, Notre Dame, Oregon and TCU.

Penn State offered Boley last October, and he last visited the school in late April. Boley is the No. 6 QB in the ’25 Class according to 247Sports’ composite rankings, the No. 1 overall player in Kentucky and the No. 72 overall player nationally.

Boley told ON3Sports that he feels he could fit in Penn State coordinator Mike Yurcich’s offense “very well.”

“Their tradition, their stadium, all that stuff is really crazy,” Boley said. “I really like coach Yurcich and coach (Danny) O’Brien. I also like coach (James) Franklin, and he can really lead a team. They’re going to compete for national championships every year.”

Unfortunately for Penn State fans, Kentucky looks to be the favorite for Boley. All seven of 247Sports’ Crystal Ball projections have Boley staying in-state and becoming a Wildcat, and six of those projections came between the time he released his top 10 and the time he cut that list in half.

If Boley surprises people and picks Penn State, he’d be the first QB to commit in the school’s ’24 or ’25 Classes. Yurcich’s offense is in solid hands at QB for now, with former ’22 five-star Drew Allar projected to become the starter, and classmate Beau Pribula, a three-star, projected to back him up. Penn State also has three-star Jaxon Smolik signed to its ’23 Class.
