Penn State’s in the running with Arkansas, Georgia, Oklahoma, Ohio State, Rutgers, Texas, and Texas A&M.
Smith (6-foot-5, 260 pounds) is the No. 34 player in Texas, the No. 14 defensive lineman in the country and the No. 110 overall prospect nationally, according to On3 Consensus Rankings.
Smith is a highly productive player playing on Melissa’s defensive line playing on the edge, nose tackle, and the three-technique. Smith has a diverse move set that makes him a problem for opposing offensive linemen. He has the frame to get bigger to play whatever position that is needed when he gets to school.

Smith has already locked in six official visits. He will visit Rutgers from May 19-21, then he visits Ohio State from June 2-4, and his official visit to Penn State will take place June 9-11. After his Penn State visit, Smith will visit Oklahoma on June 16-18 and Texas A&M from June 23-25. He plans on visiting Texas the weekend of Sept. 1-3.
Smith talked to Hayes Fawcett of On3Sports about Penn State when he talked about his final list of schools.
“I’ve built such a good relationship with this coaching staff. They made it clear that I’m their guy and I feel they can develop me to get to the NFL.”
Penn State landing a commitment from Smith would fill a major need in recruiting along the defensive lineman.
Last week, PSU has landed a commitment from Old Dominion transfer DL Alonzo Ford.
