The Nittany Lions will not be landing Saint Francis transfer Josh Cohen after all.

Cohen officially announced his commitment to join the men’s basketball team at the University of Massachusetts on Thursday, according to a report by DuShawn London of 247Sports. Cohen chose to go with the Minutemen after having the Nittany Lions in his final four choices, along with Iowa and Santa Clara.

The 6-foot-10, 220-pound forward from New Jersey went on official visits to Penn State and UMass prior to his commitment. He also had visits scheduled for Iowa and Florida, but ended his recruitment before attending. Cohen explained his decision for choosing UMass as being impressed by head coach Frank Martin, as well as playing style and his fit within the system.

Cohen averaged 21.8 points and 8.3 rebounds for Saint Francis (PA) this season, leading the Red Flash in every statistical category except for assists. He earned co-Northeast Conference Player of the Year honors for his performance.
