Penn State looks to be making a push for the nation’s top available player in the NCAA Transfer Portal.
The Nittany Lions are one of 17 teams that have already showed interest to Georgia defensive lineman Bear Alexander since he entered the portal prior to the Bulldogs’ spring game on Saturday, according to On3’s Hayes Fawcett.

Along with Penn State, Alexander has heard from the likes of Florida, Oregon, Texas, Oklahoma and USC. Alexander has scheduled an upcoming official visit at USC.
Alexander, a sophomore, will have three years of eligibility remaining. He was ranked within the top 45 players in the Class of 2022 and was rated a four-star recruit coming out of IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida.
As a true freshman, Alexander tallied nine tackles (five solo) and two sacks as a reserve player this past fall for the Bulldogs. One of his sacks came in Georgia’s blowout victory over TCU in the BCS National Championship game.
The 6-foot-3, 315-pounder’s departure from Georgia has apparently been in the works since shortly after the end of the Bulldogs’ title run, as Alexander and the team eventually agreed to part ways. The reasons for the split were not specified.
