Penn State A Finalist For 2024 4-Star Quarterback Michael Van Buren

Penn State has made the final cut for one of the top junior quarterbacks in the country.

2024 4-star quarterback Michael Van Buren (St. Frances Academy in Baltimore, Maryland) has announced that his final three teams are Penn State, Maryland and Oregon.

Rivals.com rates Van Buren as a 5.9 recruit, one of the Top 10 junior quarterbacks and one of the Top 50 overall prospects in the Class of 2024.

One thing is for certain, Van Buren is no stranger to the Penn State program as he’s made at least 5 unofficial visits to State College. James Franklin, Mike Yurcich and Danny O’Brien have done a tremendous job staying in constant communication with Van Buren. However, will that be enough to keep Van Buren from staying at home and playing at Maryland or moving out to the West Coast to play for Oregon, who have also treated him as a priority recruit.

Van Buren has schedule official visits already to both Penn State and Oregon, as he’ll be in Happy Valley on June 16 and in Oregon on June 23.

Right now, Van Buren has stated that he plans on making his commitment on July 8 but admits that could change and he could announce his decision before or after that date.

Penn State currently has 10 commitments in their Class of 2024 (5 offensive players and 5 defensive players).
