On3 Has Penn State Target Michael Van Buren Committing To Oregon

Penn State target Michael Van Buren a 2024 four-star quarterback out of St. Frances Academy in Baltimore, Maryland, is now being predicted by On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine to commit to Oregon instead of Penn State.

Van Burren has Oregon and Penn State along with Maryland in his top three as he is scheduled to announce his commitment on July 8.
Van Buren (6-foot-0, 190 pounds) is the number eight player in Maryland, the No. 19, and the No. 191 player nationally, according to the On3 Industry Rankings.

According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Oregon has a 64.7 chance to land Van Buren’s commitment, followed by Penn State at 31.9 percent, and Maryland at 1.5 percent.

Van Buren is a dual-threat quarterback that can play inside the pocket. He has a strong arm that he learned early in his career to put a touch on the ball. Coaches and teammates rave about his leadership skills and temperament in the huddle. Van Buren is very good at processing pre-snap reads and audibles.

Van Buren could work on things like staring down receivers and letting the wide receivers run their routes, but that can be fixed with college coaching.

Although Oregon has Van Buren heading to Oregon, All 247Sports Chrystal Ball predictions still have him landing at Penn State, however, there is plenty of time between now and he commits in July.
