Penn State basketball had a chance to bounce-back from a brutal loss at Nebraska this past Sunday with a game against Wisconsin back at the Bryce Jordan Center.
Coach Micah Shrewsberry’s team almost cashed in on that opportunity but fell in overtime, 79-74, in an entertaining game.
The loss dropped Penn State to 14-9 overall and 5-7 in the Big Ten, further damaging its NCAA Tournament chances.
Here’s what the people of Twitter had to say about another disheartening Penn State basketball loss.
I’m so numb to the pain of PSU basketball it’s not even funny anymore 🫠 https://t.co/MwR4jTrNh9

Team is soft. I don’t know where Shrews gets griddy at. Team needed a big win to bounce back and can’t get it.

There's a better chance of peace in the Middle East than Penn State EVER being a decent basketball school.

How do you lose to Wisconsin and home? And how do you lose to them at home already coming off an embarrassing loss against Nebraska. 2 of the 3 worst teams in the conference.

I mean we’re talking about a program that has been ranked twice since 1955. What needs to happen to change things here? This school is too big and has too many resources for this to be the norm.

Side note: I really think the basketball program should consider moving games back to Rec Hall. You just aren't going to get people to pack the BJC on a Wednesday night in State College. Save the BJC for more important, sell-out weekend games.

All told I think the longevity of the season has highlighted Penn State’s weaknesses. Defense isn’t quite there, size isn’t quite there, shooting isn’t consistent enough. It can click, and occasionally does – but this teams needs all its pieces to win, not just a few parts.
