Penn State has already landed an in-state commitment from a top-five recruit in the class of 2024, and now it’s in the running for another.
2024 four-star offensive lineman Cooper Cousins (Erie, Pennsylvania) committed to Penn State way back in January, out of McDowell in Erie, Pa., and Omillio Agard may be adding to PSU’s recruiting class from the other side of the state.
Agard, a 5-foot-11, 165-pound cornerback from St. Joseph’s Prep in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, announced his Top Five Monday morning: Alabama, Michigan, Tennessee, Clemson and Penn State.

Penn State was the third school to offer Agard, extending an offer on Feb. 13, 2021, and he’s made it out to State College a handful of times since then — including a recent gameday visit on Oct. 22 against Minnesota.
Agard has also made gameday visits to each of his other four finalists this season.
He originally set a Top Ten that included Georgia, Notre Dame, Miami, Texas A&M and South Carolina, which was narrowed from a list of offers that currently sits at 31.
“PSU is the hometown team,” Agard told On3’s Hayes Fawcett. “I’ve been on their board as their top priority since my freshman year. Coach Franklin and Coach Smith are always either showing up to my school to see me, or coming to my games! I love them, and my former head Coach at my school is a coach on PSU’s staff.”
Agard helped lead St. Joe’s to a 12-1 season as a junior, capped by a win in the PIAA Class-6A championship. He’s gotten quite used to helping lead one of the top high school teams in the country to the state championship.
Rivals rates Agard as the 255th-ranked recruit in the class (22nd-ranked cornerback and fifth-ranked recruit from Pennsylvania) while Rivals rates him as the 82nd-ranked recruit in the class (sixth-ranked cornerback and second-ranked recruit from Pennsylvania).
Agard would be the second commitment in Penn State’s class of 2024, joining Cousins, if he were to commit.
