On Monday, Penn State point guard Makenna Marisa was named to the Nancy Lieberman Award Watch List, an annual award given to the best point guard in Division I women’s college basketball. She is one of only 20 players named to the list and the only player in the Big Ten conference.

The 5-foot-11 Marisa is a senior out of Peters Township in McMurray, Pennsylvania, averaging 22.2 points which is good for second in the conference and sixth in the country, along with 4.2 rebounds, and 4.2 assists last season.

She was named a First-team All-Big Ten selection and a CoSIDA Academic All-District selection in her junior season. She scored 30 points or more in five games and scored in double figures in all the games in 2021-2022.

She was named a preseason First-team All-Big Ten before the 2022-2023 season.
