Penn State found out today that they’re one of the ten teams in the running for one of the top linebackers in the country.
2023 4-star outside linebacker Tausili Akana narrowed his list of 46 scholarship offers down to just ten and that list includes the Nittany Lions.
Akana (6’4″, 225-pounds) is a native of Kahuku, Hawaii but moved last year to Skyridge High School in Utah. Rivals rates him as one of the top five senior outside linebackers and one of the Top 70 overall prospects in the Class of 2023.

Along with Penn State, Texas, Hawaii, Notre Dame, Alabama, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Utah, Oklahoma and LSU are also in the running for his services. Some other schools that offered him but didn’t make this cut were Arkansas, Auburn, Clemson, Georgia, Miami, Michigan, Ohio State, Oregon, Pitt, UCLA, USC and Wisconsin.
Akana received his offer from Penn State back on November 11, 2021.
Texas is believed to be one of, if not the leader for Akana, but Signing Day isn’t until December so all ten of these schools will heavily recruit this talented linebacker.
