Josh Philostin, a Class of 2024 four-star recruit out of Cardinal Newman High School in West Palm Beach, Florida, has received an offer from Penn State.

Philostin is the No. 41 player in Florida, the No. 30 cornerback, and the No. 228 player in the country, according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings. He has also had offers from Indiana and Ole Miss.
Philostin is a 5-foot-11, 160-pound athlete that projects as a cornerback at the next level, but he plays wide receiver and is a kickoff and punt returner. Philostin’s versatility will provide value in multiple aspects of the game from day one at the college level. He was named Sun Sentinel Palm Beach 5A-1A honorable mention in 2021 as a sophomore.
Philostin is also an accomplished sprinter finishing with a silver medal in the FSHAA 1A track meet in the 200 meters running a time of 21.47 seconds, and took gold in the 4 X 100 meters, running a time of 10.74 seconds.
Philostin impressed in camps in Florida over the summer, and he has had a strong first half of his junior year, making plays in the return game, and as a wide receiver, now his recruitment is starting to heat up.
With Penn State being one of the first schools to give Philostin an offer, they may want to capitalize on getting a skill position player to add to offensive lineman Cooper Cousins in their 2024 recruiting cycle.
