Penn State Target, Auburn De-Commit Karmello English Tweets ‘#WeAre’ After Penn States Win Over Auburn

Karmello English, a four-star athlete out of Central High School in Phenix City, Alabama, who de-committed from Auburn earlier this week, sent a “#WeAre” tweet after Penn State’s 41-12 win over Auburn Saturday.

English has since deleted the tweet, adding more intrigue to his saga.

Penn State was in English’s top five along with Alabama, Auburn, Florida and Kentucky. English is the No. 14 player in Alabama, the No. 22 wide receiver and the No. 162 player nationally, according to 247Sports’ composite rankings.

English, a 5-foot-11, 175-pound wide receiver, is looking at Penn State along with Kentucky and Michigan, which he visited earlier this summer.

Scouts like English’s ability to play on the perimeter, but they see him as more of a slot receiver.

English has the short area quickness to get open in the middle of the field, and he has the acceleration to get away from defenders. He also plays bigger than his size and has the ability to get 50/50 balls and plays with physicality.

If English commits, he will join Ejani Shakir and Carmello Taylor in the wide receiver room for Penn State’s 2023 recruiting class. Furthermore, English is a teammate of Tomarrion Parker, who de-commited from Penn State last month.
