Zion Tracy, a three-star athlete out of St. Thomas More Prep School in Oakdale, Connecticut, has received a 247Sports crystal ball pick to Penn State.
Tracy is the number three recruit in Connecticut and has had Division I offers from Buffalo, Connecticut, Marshall, Pitt, Rutgers, Syracuse, and Temple.
Penn State extended an offer to Tracy on August 5.
Tracy will be making his official visit to Penn State on the weekend of Sept. 9-10, the weekend of Penn State’s home opener against Ohio.
Tracy, who is 5-foot-11, 180 pounds, is a two-way player that plays wide receiver and cornerback when he played at Long Island Lutheran in Brookville, New York. On offense, he caught 20 passes for 472 yards and four touchdowns, and on defense, he recorded 18 tackles. He will be playing his post-prep season At St. Thomas More Prep School.
Scout projects as a defensive back at the college level, impressed at Penn State’s final Elite Showcase Camp of the summer last month when he ran a 4.35 40-yard dash time,4.28 shuttle time, and a triple broad jump of 32-5.
He was also seen on tape going one-on-one against Penn State commit Ejani Shakir holding his own and proving that he belongs under the bright lights.
If Tracy commits, he will join Lamont Payne (Bridgeville, Pennsylvania) in the cornerback room to commit to Penn State in the 2023 recruiting cycle.
