Penn State is in the mix with Boston College, Kansas State, South Florida and West Virginia for the 6-foot, 205-pound Lucius, who is the No. 62 linebacker overall and the No. 117 player in Florida, according to 247Sports’ composite ratings.
Lucius made his official visit to Penn State the weekend of June 10, and he’s is expected to make his commitment sometime next month.
Lucius recorded 59 tackles last season in his first year playing varsity football for Tampa Bay Technical High School, which finished 7-4 and played in the state playoffs. He also runs track for the Titans.
When Lucius spoke to Rivals.com National Recruiting Analyst Ryan Wright about his top five schools, he spoke highly about his visit to Penn State and what he sees in the program.
“It was great, man,” Lucius told Wright. “My family came down with me, it was a great experience. I meet every coach on the staff. Manny Diaz (defensive coordinator) and I were chopping it up. It was great.”
He was also impressed with the facility and the local community.
“The people around the facilities and in the community were great,” Lucius said. “I also liked the college environment at Penn State.”
If Lucius were to commit to Penn State, he’d join Tony Rojas and Ta’Mere Robinson in the linebacker room from the Class of 2023.
