Penn State Guard Eric Wilson Signs With New Orleans Saints

Former Penn State offensive guard Eric Wilson has signed with the New Orleans Saints, where he will be joining former Penn State wide receiver Jawan Johnson.

Wilson, who is 6-foot-4 and 307 pounds, transferred from Harvard University, started 12 games for the Nittany Lions in 2021 and was a consistent member of a largely inconsistent unit.

He didn’t get invited to the NFL combine, but he showed his strength at Penn State’s pro day last month, where he led all Penn State prospects with 29 bench press reps.

Wilson started 22 games for the Crimson and received second-team All-Ivy League Honors in the 2019 season. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Ivy League canceled the entire 2020 season. After getting to Penn State, Wilson was behind Anthony Whigan in the depth chart to start the 2021 season but supplanted him in Week 1 and never looked back.

Wilson was going to transfer to Auburn University, but a coaching change made him reconsider, and he chose Penn State to finish his college career.

Now, he will get the opportunity to catch on with the New Orleans Saints.
