Rasheed Walker has been drafted by Green Bay Packers in the 7th round, No. 249 overall the in the 2022 NFL Draft. Walker is the 61st offensive linemen to be drafted from Penn State in the common NFL Draft era dating back to 1967.
Walker was a four-star recruit out of High Point High School in Waldorf, MD, and was a starter for the past three seasons for the Nittany Lions, however, he got injured last season and missed the last three games of 2021.
That did not stop him from making third-team All-Big Ten in both 2020 and 2021. However, due to his injury, he did not participate in the NFL Combine or Penn State’s pro day.
Walker has the size to play tackle at 6-6, 315 pounds, and a reach of 33 5/8 inches. Scouts love his hands in pass protection showing outstanding grip strength that aches on to pass rushers. Scouts see him as an starting caliber right tackle, but a developmental left tackle.
Walker is a punishing force in the running game that gets to defenders with power at the point of attack and is good a working with guards on combo blocks.
Walker will be apart of one of the best organizations in the NFL in regards to developing offensive lineman and one of the best schemes in the NFL in Matt LeFleur’s version of the Shanahan Offense.
