Penn State Women’s Basketball Guard Maddie Burke Transferring to Villanova

The Bryce Jordan Center is where Donald Trump will be for a rally Oct. 26, the same day Penn State plays Wisconsin.

Penn State’s women’s basketball guard Maddie Burke, who was Big Ten Sixth Player of the Year as a freshman but averaged just 2.8 points this past season, will be transferring to Villanova, she announced via Instagram.

She entered the transfer portal earlier this month, and now, the Doylestown native and Central Bucks West High School graduate will stay in Pennsylvania.

Burke played in five more games in 2021-22 than she did the previous season, but her usage decreased dramatically. In 24 games as a freshman, Burke started 11 games and averaged 26.3 minutes a game. As a sophomore, she didn’t get any starts and only averaged 14.1 minutes.
