English (6’, 180 pounds) caught 70 passes for 1,059 yards and 18 touchdowns for the Central Phenix Red Devils, helping them to the Alabama Class 7A state championship game.
According to 247Sports, English is the top wide receiver in Alabama, the No. 10 overall recruit in the state and the No. 102 recruit in the country.
Scouts like his ability to play outside, but say he is better in the slot. Scouts are impressed with his short-area quickness and change of direction ability which is paramount for a slot receiver.
English knows how to use his body positioning on 50/50 balls and plays bigger than his size. He also has the potential to be an effective punt returner as well.
If Penn State were to get a commitment from English, he would be the first wide receiver from the 2023 class to commit to the Nittany Lions and will follow Kaden Saunders, Anthony Ivey, Omari Evans and Tyler Johnson from the Class of 2022.
