Two Penn State signees have been selected as finalists for the Mr. PA Lineman of the Year in the 4A-6A class for the 2021 season. Offensive tackle Drew Shelton a four-star recruit out of Downingtown West High School in Downingtown, PA, and Keon Wylie a three-star recruit out of the Imhotep Institute in Philadelphia.
Shelton and Wylie were joined as finalists with Pine Richland High School offensive tackle Jalen Klemm, Cocalico offensive tackle Ryan Burbker, Central Catholic defensive tackle Donavan Hinish, and Wylie’s teammate at Imhotep Enai White.
The 6 foot 5, 290-pound Shelton was named as an Under Armour All-American in 2021 after turning down a chance to play at the IMG Academy for his senior season. He has the potential to be playing both guard and tackle next season until settling in at the right tackle position in 2023.
Wylie had 26 tackles and nine sacks for Imhotep last season and was named as an Adidas All-American and played in the All-American Bowl last month. He is projected to be playing linebacker at Penn State where he took snaps during his post-season bowl games.
The Winner of the Mr. PA Linemen of the Year Award will be announced on March 12th.
