Lance Zierlein of NFL.com Has Jaquan Brisker Going to The Eagles in His First Mock Draft

According to Lance Zierlein’s 2022 NFL Mock Draft, he has Penn State safety Jaquan Brisker going the Philadelphia Eagles at 19th overall.

Zierlien states that his play has steadily progressed over the past two seasons. He also cited his instincts, sure tackling ability, and his above-average speed for the position is why Brisker would be an ideal fit for the Eagles.

The Eagles’ starting safeties are Ronnie McCloud and Marcus Epps. McCloud had another productive season with 58 tackles and four interceptions but he is an upcoming free agent and is going into his age 32 season. Epps had 2 tackles and one interception for the Eagles last season, but the team can use a player like Brisker that can play alongside him or an upgrade at the position.

Brisker is looked at as a Swiss Army type that can play the pass and the run well, succeed in playing in zone coverage as well as man-to-man, and is very good at blitzing for a safety. But the thing that scouts and coaches at the Senior Bowl were impressed was the most by Brisker is his drive, leadership, and his high football IQ.

Scouts compare Brisker frequently to another former Eagles safety who happens to be a two-time Super Bowl champion and two-time All-Pro in Malcolm Jenkins.
