2023 Defensive Lineman Stantavious Smith Has Penn State in His Top Ten Schools

Stantavious Smith a 2023 three-star defensive linemen from Dougherty High School in Albany, GA has Penn State in his top 10 list of schools. Smith also has Louisville, Kentucky, Jackson state, Oregon, Georgia, Mississippi State, Arkansas, South Carolina, and Nebraska.

Smith is a 6-foot-3, 260-pound prospect that had 55 tackles, 14 tackles for loss, and eight sacks for the Trojans in 2021 as he helped lead his team to the third round of the Georgia 3A state playoffs.

Scouts say that he has a solid first step and has the discipline to get his hands up to deflect passes when he doesn’t get home to the quarterback. Scouts are also impressed by his lateral movements which is paramount for defensive linemen, has a good motor, and is a team leader. He has the skills and technique to win at the point of attack which comes from also being a wrestler for the Trojans.

Smith is a prospect that has the potential to be a four or even five-star prospect with another strong season in 2022 as his stock continues to rise.
