Penn State offensive guard Eric Wilson has been selected to play in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl on Jan. 29 at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California.
Wilson came to Penn State in 2021 after playing for three seasons at Harvard University, where he was named Academic All-Ivy league, Phil Steele All-America fourth team. He was also named a semifinalist for the William V. Campbell trophy, and a National Football Foundation Honor Society honoree.
In the 2021 season for the Nittany Lions, Wilson started 13 games and won the Bob Mitinger Memorial Awards at the team banquet last month. This award goes to the player that exudes courage, character, and social responsibility.
Wilson will be playing on the American team coached by Jeff Fisher and he will have a chance to improve his draft stock during the week of practice leading up to the game. Wilson is projected to be a day three pick, according to scouts. Scouts like his size and competitiveness, but there are concerns about his ability to get to the next level and block secondary defenders.
