Penn State’s 2022 recruiting class has given Nittany Lions fans a lot to be excited about.
The names Drew Allar, Nick Singleton and Dani Dennis-Sutton—among others—have become well known amongst Penn State followers, and one outlet now has all three of them listed as five-star recruits.
Allar, thought to be the Nittany Lions’ quarterback of the future, is ranked by On3.com as the No. 2 quarterback and No. 7 overall prospect in the country. Singleton is the top-ranked running back and 16th overall player, and Dennis-Sutton is ranked 20th overall and third amongst edge rushers.
All three prospects shot up in the rankings after the Army All-American Bowl. Allar and Singleton each moved up five spots, with Allar cracking the top ten and Singleton moving from 21st to 16th. Dennis-Sutton had the most drastic change of the three, moving up 18 spots into the top 20.
In the site’s consensus rankings, Allar is 20th, Singleton is 30th and Dennis-Sutton ranks 35th. Those three are the only Penn State signees in On3’s top 100. The next highest player, linebacker Abdul Carter from Philadelphia, is ranked 128.
Carter moved up a whopping 48 spots, and two other Nittany Lions who cracked the top 300– running back Kaytron Allen and safety KJ Winston— moved up 50 and 71 spots, respectively. Wide receiver Kaden Saunders moved up nine spots. The only Lion recruits in the top 300 to move down were offensive lineman Drew Shelton (down 23 spots) and defensive back Cam Miller (down 56)
This is the final installment of the On300 rankings for the 2022 recruiting cycle. The full rankings can be seen here.
