Penn State signees 5-star quarterback Drew Allar and 5-star running back Nicholas Singleton have been named finalists for the US Army All-American Bowl Player of the Year award.
Allar threw for 4,444 yards and 48 touchdowns for Medina High School where he was named Mr. Football in 2021 for the State of Ohio. The Ohio Prep Sportswriters Association recognized him as the Co-offensive player of the Year along with Te’Sean Smoot. Allar also added nine touchdowns on the ground for Medina last season.
Singleton was named the 2021 Gatorade Pennsylvania Player of the Year and the 2021 Gatorade National Player of the Year. Singleton rushed for 2,043 yards and 43 touchdowns on 165 carries for Governor Mifflin High School in Shillington, PA.
Allar and Singleton are considered the top gems in James Franklin’s 2022 recruiting class and will enroll at Penn State in the spring.
The other finalists are quarterbacks Cade Klubnik (Austin, TX), Gunner Stockton (Tiger, GA), defensive back Xavier Nwankpa (Pleasant Hill, IA), and wide receiver Tetairoa McMillian (Anaheim, CA).
The US Army All-American Bowl Player of the Year Award will be announced on January 8, 2022.
