Penn State Makes Final Group For Elite 4-Star Recruit Josiah Trotter

Josiah Trotter has been a top target of Penn State for a while and today the Nittany Lions received some good news.

The elite 2023 4-star inside linebacker from Philadelphia announced that he would be focusing on 8 schools for the remainder of his recruiting process- Penn State, West Virginia, Notre Dame, Virginia Tech, Texas A&M, Clemson, Ohio State and South Carolina.

Trotter (6-foot-2, 225-pounds) is hard-hitting prototypical inside linebacker that ranked the No. 7 linebacker and No. 112 player nationally.

Josiah comes from some really strong bloodlines with his father, Jeremiah, being the former NFL All-Pro linebacker with the Philadelphia Eagles and his two older brothers currently playing football with Clemson and Ohio State.

Trotter is no stranger to State College as he made three unofficial visits to the school last year, back in June, July and September.

The Nittany Lions were able to sign two highly ranked recruits from Philadelphia, in 4-star linebacker Abdul Carter and 4-star defensive end Leon Wylie, for their Class of 2022 and are hoping to add another one this year with Trotter.

The three programs worth monitoring for this recruiting battle are Ohio State and Clemson because of his brothers but also Virginia Tech. Former defensive coordinator Brent Pry was helping recruit Trotter when he was with Penn State and is doing so now with his new program.
