With the 2021 college season not even a day removed from its conclusion, odds are already in for 2022’s national champion, courtesy of BetOnline.
These odds have Penn State with a 66/1 chance to win its first national title since 1986. The Nittany Lions are tied with five other schools for the 17th highest odds.
In the Big Ten, Ohio State and Michigan each have higher odds than Penn State, as do Wisconsin, Michigan State and Iowa. Alabama is the early favorite at 13/4. Newly-crowned kings Georgia are second at 7/2, followed by Ohio State, which paces the Big Ten at 7/1.
Michigan and Clemson round out the top five, each at 12/1.
The Nittany Lions open their 2022 season Sept. 3 at Purdue, kicking it off with a conference opponent on Labor Day Weekend.
