Penn State’s men’s basketball team will play another game eventually, but it will have to wait a little longer than Coach Micah Shrewsberry would have liked.
The Nittany Lions’ game at Virginia Commonwealth scheduled for this Saturday was postponed due to COVID-19, and the same has happened with Penn State’s Dec. 22 home game against Quinnipiac for the same reason. It will not be rescheduled.
“The health and safety of our student-athletes, coaches, staff and the broader community are of the utmost importance,” Penn State’s statement read. “Therefore, as part of the protocols established by the Big Ten Conference and Penn State Athletics medical staff, and in consultation with University, Local, and national officials and guidelines, individuals with a positive test have been put into isolation.
Fans who purchased a ticket through Penn State’s Ticket Office will be granted account credit, and those who received a free ticket will be able to use that for the Dec. 29 game against Delaware State.
