Viva Las Vegas? Maybe so for Penn State fans.
Mark Anderson of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported Friday that either Penn State or Wisconsin would be the Big Ten’s representative for the Las Vegas bowl. Which representative the Big Ten takes depends on Michigan State.
“If the Big Ten gets three teams into New Year’s Six games,” writes Anderson, “Penn State will be the representative. If it’s two teams, it will be Wisconsin.”
Ohio State appears to be a lock for a New Year’s Six game, as does the winner of Saturday’s Big Ten championship between Michigan and Iowa. Michigan State, who finished third in the Big Ten East and is No. 11 in the College Football Playoff rankings, is on the fringe.
The official bowl announcement will come Sunday. On the PAC 12 side, either Arizona State or UCLA will be going to Vegas. The Las Vegas Bowl is scheduled for Dec. 30 at 7:30 p.m.
