Medina High School was locked in one of its toughest games of the season Friday night against St. Ignatius in the regional finals of the OSHAA Division I playoffs, but Penn State’s five-star quarterback commit Drew Allar upped his game when it mattered most.
Allar threw for 386 yards and three touchdowns on 30-of-54 passing attempts in a 27-14 win over St. Ignatius to advance to the regional final against No. 1 seed St. Edward Friday at 7 p.m.

Allar’s strong performance just continues a remarkable season, leading Medina to a 13-0 record and seemingly increasing his level of play each week. Through 12 games, according to Elite 11’s QB Tracker, Allar passed for 3,748 yards and 44 touchdowns on 248-of-398 passing attempts. He completed 62.3 percent of his passing attempts with just four interceptions. He also showed off his mobility, rushing for 497 more yards and nine touchdowns.
Friday’s matchup against St. Edward will be another chance for Allar to showcase his abilities against elite talent. With the 12-1 top-seeded St. Edward, the two teams could combine for 100 points.
