PSU Commit Nicholas Singleton and Governor Mifflin Win Section 1 Title

Despite heavy focus from the Berks Catholic defense Friday night, Penn State four-star running back commit Nicholas Singleton rushed for 108 yards and three touchdowns to help Governor Mifflin win the Berks Inter-County 1 title.

The 42-13 win over Berks Catholic completed a perfect 8-0 regular season for Governor Mifflin and an incredible senior regular season for Singleton.

Singleton rushed for 1,388 yards and 29 touchdowns on just 105 carries before the Berks Catholic game this season, averaging over 13 yards per carry — despite opposing defenses honing in on him during every game.

It was a season of milestones for Singleton, scoring his 100th career touchdown and breaking the all-time Berks County (Pa.) rushing record back in September.

Governor Mifflin will enter the PIAA Class 5-A playoffs as the No. 1 ranked team in Pennsylvania, according to MaxPreps, and will look to avenge last season’s PIAA 5-A semifinals loss in the hunt for a state title.
