Penn State Makes the Cut for 2023 Four-Star Tight End Ethan Davis

Coming off a 66-yard receiving performance (complete with a touchdown catch) against Lambert High School in the Georgia Class 7-A playoffs, 2023 four-star tight end Ethan Davis has narrowed down his college recruitment to just seven teams.

Davis (6-foot-4, 215 pounds) narrowed down his college recruitment from 20 offers to seven top contenders: Georgia, Cincinnati, South Carolina, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Florida State and Penn State.

Davis has been a key figure in Collins Hill High School’s unbeaten season thus far, hauling in 43 catches for 539 yards and four touchdowns as a multi-dimensional threat for the Eagles. The versatile offensive weapon for Collins Hill has been one of the most sought-after recruits of the cycle so far.

Playing alongside 2022 first-ranked recruit Travis Hunter on Collins Hills’ squad, Davis has been able to make a name for himself and stand out on a team full of recruits with Division I prospects.

With visits to Florida State, Georgia, Ole Miss and Tennessee so far this college football season, Davis has been busy in his recruiting process, but the Nittany Lions still clearly feature in his end goal.

Davis’s blend of speed and power, with the frame of a tight end, has been on full display this season. With long arms, to complement his large frame, he’s able to maximize a wide catch radius and use his speed to create once he’s hauled passes in.

According to 247Sports, Davis is the 183rd-ranked recruit in the class, checking in as the 12th-ranked tight end and the 18th-ranked recruit from Georgia. Rivals rates him as the 175th-ranked recruit in the class, coming in as the 24th-ranked tight end and 21st-ranked recruit from Georgia.

Davis hasn’t announced a commitment date, or a date in which he might narrow his recruitment process even further, but he’s only a junior this season. Collins Hill will play Pebblebrook on Friday, Nov. 19 at 7 p.m. in the second round of the playoffs.
