2022 Four-Star Otega Oweh Announcing College Decision Today

Penn State head coach Micah Shrewsberry has already built an impressive 2022 recruiting class, but the crown jewel of the cycle could be on the way today.

2022 four-star shooting guard Otega Oweh from Blair Academy in Blairsville, New Jersey is set to announce his college decision today at 5 p.m. on CBS Sports HQ. Oweh (6-foot-4, 180 pounds) has received offers from nearly 30 universities, but it appears that his college decision is narrowing down to Penn State and Oklahoma.

Oweh, the younger brother of former Penn State and current Baltimore Raven defensive lineman Odafe Oweh, has made visits to Penn State, Illinois, Seton Hall, Miami and Oklahoma. In doing his due diligence in visiting various programs, it appears that his choice has been widdled down to just two.

According to 247Sports, Oweh is a high four-star recruit rated as the 73rd-ranked recruit in the class, slotting in as the eighth-ranked shooting guard and third-ranked recruit from New Jersey. Rivals rates him as the 76th-ranked recruit in the class, coming in as the 17th-ranked shooting guard in the class.

Both 247Sports and Rivals currently lean toward Oweh landing with the Nittany Lions, but neither site project him 100% toward Happy Valley.

Oweh would be the second highest-ranked recruit in Penn State history, according to 247Sports, if he were to commit to the Lions. Just behind former Penn State star Tony Carr and just ahead of fellow 2022 recruit Kebba Njie.
