Mike’d Up: James Franklin/USC Talk; Penn State-Auburn Prediction

This morning it’s Mike’d Up, which is proudly sponsored by Martin Lawn Services, voted one of the best Lawn and Outdoor businesses in Western Pennsylvania. If you’re looking to build a deck, an outdoor patio or your landscaping around your home, give Doug and his crew a call for an estimate.

The big talk throughout college football since Sunday is the coaching vacancy at USC, following the firing of Clay Helton following their Week loss to Stanford. It seems as though whenever a big college job comes open, Penn State head coach James Franklin immediately is named by the media as a candidate and that’s certainly been the case with USC opening.

As the Nittany Lions prepare for a huge matchup Saturday night with Auburn, Franklin has been asked a number of times this week about the job and his potential interest. Franklin has been consistent about never completely ruling himself out as a candidate, which of course creates speculation.

Mike and Mike talk about the USC job, would it be a good fit for Franklin, along with his response this week to the opening. We also get into predictions for this weekends games: Auburn/Penn State, West Virginia/Virginia Tech, Pitt/Western Michigan and the Steelers/Raiders game.

“Mike’d Up” on Pittsburgh Sports Now and Pittsburgh Sports Live presented by Doug Martin and Martin Lawn Services, who build specialize in high quality outdoor living spaces like decks, patios, and can take care of your lawn and garden needs.
