Former Penn State quarterback Trace McSorley found himself among the hundreds of players cut today in the NFL.
After making the Baltimore Ravens 53-man roster the last two seasons, McSorley was let go as John Harbaugh decided to start the season with just two quarterbacks on the roster. For the time being, 23-year old Tyler Huntley will serve as the backup to starter Lamar Jackson.
The 26-year old McSorley was drafted in the 6th round by the Ravens in the 2019 NFL Draft and played in three games over the last two seasons. In two games last season, McSorley completed 3 of 10 passes for 90 yards, including a 70-yard touchdown pass to Marquise Brown.
Word out of Baltimore is that if he doesn’t get claimed off of waivers in the next 24 hours that the Ravens would like to bring McSorley back and place him on their practice squad.
